There are very few characters in Superliminal. The three main ones are Dr. Glenn Pierce, the Standard Orientation Protocol, and the Player.
Dr. Glenn Pierce
Dr. Glenn Pierce is presumed to be the creator of Somnasculpt and the head of the Pierce Institute. He first shows up after you escape the fake hallways and rooms in Chapter 2: Optical. He speaks to you through radios scattered around the rooms and hallways. Slowly, as the player makes their way farther into the dreamland, he stops needing the radios, and speaks whenever.
Standard Orientation Protocol
The Standard Orientation Protocol is a female-voiced AI who guides the player around the dream world and helps them use the Superliminal perception abilities. She chimes in at random and tells the Player what to do, much more orderly and robotic than Dr. Glenn Pierce, eventually interfering with the Somnasculpt Therapy in an attempt to wake up the Player.
The Player
The player is the protagonist of Superliminal, and the subject of Somnasculpt Therapy that is focused on throughout the game. They remain silent to allow the actual real-world player project themselves onto them.
Patient Care Team
The Patient Care Team is referenced by the Standard Orientation Protocol and Dr. Glenn Pierce, however they never talk in the game.
Emergency Exit Protocol
The Emergency Exit Protocol is a minor character who attempts to wake up the Player in a late chapter, only to be swiftly cut off by the Standard Orientation Protocol, after an error is logged.
